Vol. 17, "Supplement: Changes in the Church" (publ. 1979) is an alphabetical arrangement of articles which are self-contained, but also designed to reflect the "impact of postconciliar thought and life" on entries in the basic set. Scope is outlined in the preface, and topics are listed therein. Bibliographies for most articles. The earlier set will continue to be useful on various accounts: more extensive treatment of certain topics, some entries do not appear in the new work, different bibliographic citations are given, etc. (Balay).
